The BTPS is a six-month school that gives students training and practical experience in teaching and ministering the Word of God in different cultures and contexts. The aim of the school is to equip students who already have a thorough understanding of the Scriptures to preach and teach in churches or on the mission field, adjusting teaching styles for a variety of audiences.

The students learn the tools of effective communication, prayer and heart preparation, as well as ministry in the Spirit. The end result is the preaching and teaching of a message rooted in an accurate interpretation of the Bible ministered in the power of the Holy Spirit.

The school includes one month of church placement and two months of outreach integrated throughout the school with the 12 week lecture phase. Completion of the SBS, BCC, or other theological training is a prerequisite to the BTPS.
